The flower petals are bright white. Plant in drifts for a spectacular display These tulips bloom in early spring for a 3 week period. For the best effects, plant the bulbs in clusters of 5 to 15 bulbs of one variety, or scatter clusters throughout the garden or flower border. Tulips do best in well-drained soil. It is advisable not to plant tulips in the same location in the garden year after year. If possible, plant in a somewhat sheltered location. Tulips are excellent for mass planting, rock gardens, containers, cut flowers, and borders.
Tulip - Parrot - Texas FlameThe Tulip ‘Texas Flame’, ‘ Tulipa parrot’, a fall planted bulb, is an exotic, ruffled Parrot Tulip with short compact foliage and big red and yellow flaming blooms. Parrot tulips are wonderfully colored, with deeply fringed, frilled and wavy petals. These tulips bloom on strong stems amid striking green foliage. Parrot Tulips are well-known for their unusual feather-like flowers. Whatever the color may be, most flowers will have a green spot in the middle base of the petals. They are particularly sensitive to poor weather conditions and should be planted in protected areas. Parrot Tulips are best grown as a display on their own, in borders or containers, and either as a mixture or in groups of single varieties.
Tulip - Single Late - MentonThe Tulip ‘Menton’, ‘Tulipa single late’, a fall planted bulb, produces large and vibrant pink-peach flowers on tall stems. Single Late Tulips finish off the tulip season. They bloom in late spring. The blooms are large, oval, almost egg-shaped, on a long, sturdy stem. Single Late Tulips are good as cut flowers, for beds, and borders. They do not require the very cold winters of many other tulips, and are a good choice for warmer climates. They have tall strong stems and well-shaped blooms.
