Ixia - MableThe Ixia Mable, ‘Ixia acaulis’, a spring planted corm, produces beautiful deep pink flowers among sword-like leaves. The long flower stems are adorned with the star-shaped flowers. The Ixia are used in borders, beds, containers, perennial gardens, and is an excellent cut flower. Ixia are also commonly called the African Lily. They love the sun and heat. Ixia cut flowers will last 2 weeks or more. Place them in well drained, rich, fertile soil.
Calla - Callafornia - Peach ChiffonThe Callafornia Calla Lily Peach Chiffon, ‘Zantedeschia’, a spring planted tuber, produces wonderful yellow flowers with red edges. The flower is trumpet like in form and has a waxy texture. Calla Lilies are also know as pig lilies. The Calla Lily has sword-shaped leaves which are formed at the end of celery-like stalks. The leaves are heart-shaped and are a rich, dark green color that may be speckled. The Calla Lilly makes an excellent cut flower and are great container plants.
