They are particularly esteemed for their beautiful, traditional “tulip” flower shape. Triumph Tulips have sturdy stems and withstand windy weather. They are great for cut flowers and they have a long vase life. These are mid sized tulips with compact leaves and shorter flower stems. They are ideal for pots or even a spring color hedge. The bottom interior of the flowers is tangerine to marigold-orange. The exterior is reddish orange deepening to a coppery red. Lilly Flowering tulips have slender, urn-shaped flowers with pointed tips. They are quite tall and known for their long-lasting elegant flowers. These tulips flower in mid spring and they are very popular as cut flowers. Do not prune foliage until it has died back. If flowers are used for bouquets leave as much of the foliage as possible on the plant. Lily flowering tulips reliably come back every year. Lily flowering tulips are not only reliable, but they also have a look of elegance. Lift the bulbs about every 5 years or so and replant when they become too crowded.

The blooms truly look like a spider and they deserve a special place in your garden. These late flowering tulips are also excellent for southern climate zones. These tulips bloom in late spring for a 3 week period. For the best effects, plant the bulbs in clusters of 5 to 15 bulbs of one variety, or scatter clusters throughout the garden or flower border. Tulips do best in well-drained soil. It is advisable not to plant tulips in the same location in the garden year after year. If possible, plant in a somewhat sheltered location. Tulips are excellent for mass planting, rock gardens, containers, cut flowers, and borders.

This Glad group contains the varieties Ambiance, Nori and Very Lynn to provide beautiful color to your garden. Gladiolus are also commonly called Sword Lily or Corn Flag. Plant in groups of six or more in the garden, or grow lots of them for cuttings in a bed. To extend the time of flower availability of your Glads, plant in two week intervals from early spring through June. They make striking accents in a mixed border. Glads are easy to grow and like to be in full sun and in well drained soil. Increase water and fertility when flowers begin to develop, then plant 4″ deep in clay soils, 6″ deep in others; the deeper the planting the less need for staking. In frost prone areas, dig them when the leaves turn yellow, dip them in a fungicide, and store in a dry frost free location over winter.

This special group of hybrids is spectacular in the sunny garden. Each cultivar has outstanding colors, markings, and ruffled edges. Experienced daylily growers, and novices alike, will delight in the summertime display of big showy flowers. Daylilies are the perfect perennial. Each plant sends up many flower stems, and each stem bears 12 or more buds. Bloom is lavish and continues for several weeks or more on each plant. Trouble-free, maintenance-free, they tolerate most soils and conditions if they get at least 6 hours of sun. Use them in a perennial border, in front of shrubbery, as an edging along a walk or wall, and in your bulb beds, where they hide the ripening foliage of tulips and daffodils. They need dividing only every 10-15 years. Plants 18-24″ apart.

This is a new introduction this year and is a very unique tulip with yellow petals and a touch of green on the bottom.

They are great for mass plantings, containers, and borders. Rosy Cloud bulbs, once planted, can remain in the ground for many years. They will multiply and produce the most abundant flowering results in the 2nd and 3rd year. If necessary, very large clumps of bulbs can be lifted as soon as the leaves wither, and then they can be divided and replanted as soon as possible. After flowering, let the leaves yellow before cutting them back. The plants are deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant.
