    Daylily - Stella de Oro

The Hemerocallis Stella de Oro, also known as a Daylily, has a very fragrant dark yellow flower with a size of 2. 5. With dark green foliage, this daylily will reach a height of 12 and a plant spread of 12-24. It has been named Perennial of the Year. Stella de Oro will bloom from May through July, with outstanding color and a definite re-bloomer, more than any in its family. Stella de Oro prefers a full sun area that is well-drained. Although the blooms will last only for one day, there are many blooms on strong stems that rise above tall grassy foliage, (remove in late fall). Stella de Oro is considered to be pest and deer resistant. Use for cut flowers, massing, edging, borders or in mixed containers and tubs.

    Lily - Blackout (Asiatic Lily)

The Asiatic Lily Blackout, ‘Lilum Blackout, has extremely dark red, almost black, flowers that produces 4-5 flowers per stem. The dark green foliage makes a great contrast with its flower color. Blackout has a plant height of 36 and is one of the newest Lilys on the market today. Cutting the pollen off the middle of the flower, not letting it touch the flower, will increase the bloom time on Lilys. Blooming in mid to late June, Blackout should be planted in full sun and in a well drained soil. Proven to be resistant to rots and virus, it should not be left out of the perennial garden.

    Daylily - Destined to See

The Daylily Destined to See, ‘Hemerocallis’, has attractive creamy white petals with a blue-violet eye-zone. Accented with a rich purple edging. Fragrant, blooms 4-5″ across. Early mid-season bloomer, this is an evergreen variety. Daylilies are the perfect perennial. Each plant sends up many flower stems, and each stem bears 12 or more buds. Bloom is lavish and continues for several weeks or more on each plant. Trouble-free, maintenance-free, they tolerate most soils and conditions if they get at least 6 hours of sun. Use them in a perennial border, in front of shrubbery, as an edging along a walk or wall, and in your bulb beds, where they hide the ripening foliage of tulips and daffodils. They need dividing only every 10-15 years. Plants 18-24″ apart.
