    Daylily - Blueberry Cream

    The Daylily Blueberry Cream, ‘Hemerocallis’, displays large 6″ flowers of cream-yellow with lavender eye-zone and edges. A real eye-catcher! It re-blooms in late summer andis the semi-evergreen variety. No. 1 size roots. Daylilies are the perfect perennial. Each plant sends up many flower stems, and each stem bears 12 or more buds. Bloom is lavish and continues for several weeks or more on each plant. Trouble-free, maintenance-free, they tolerate most soils and conditions if they get at least 6 hours of sun. Use them in a perennial border, in front of shrubbery, as an edging along a walk or wall, and in your bulb beds, where they hide the ripening foliage of tulips and daffodils. They need dividing only every 10-15 years. Plants 18-24″ apart. Zones 3-9.

    The Daylily Storm of the Century, Hemerocallis ‘Storm of the Century’ (Carr, ‘00), has almost 6 inch ruffled blooms that are purple with a gold edge and a yellow and green throat on green foilage. Storm of the Centure will bloom mid-season and is a constant rebloomer. It can survive harsh conditions that many other plants can not and prefers full sun for the best performance. Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Use for stand alone plantings, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs.

Oriental Lilies are known for their fragrance, color, and size. Trumpets are unique for their trumpet-like flowers and their ability to naturalize. ‘Purple Prince’ is a rare shade of deep lavender accented with a green throat. It is hardy zones 4-9.

You can expect lots of charming speckled flowers per bulb from this excellent naturalizer. The Tiger Lily comes from Japan and has been cultivated there for a long time. Von Siebold’s name will always be connected with this lily because he introduced the first bulb to the west. The petals of the Tiger Lily are sharply reflexed, somewhat pendulous, and very sweet-smelling.
