Daffodil - Large Cupped - Accent
Daffodil - Large Cupped - AccentThe Daffodil ‘Accent’, ‘Narcissi large-cupped’, a fall planted bulb, is a cheerful variety that has a ruffled delicate apricot-pink colored cup that is against a background of pure white petals. It will cheer up the border in your garden and will stand up to tough weather. The blossoms last up to 4 weeks and appear in mid spring. They are great for mass plantings, containers, and borders. Accent bulbs, once planted, can remain in the ground for many years. They will multiply and produce the most abundant flowering results in the 2nd and 3rd year. If necessary, very large clumps of bulbs can be lifted as soon as the leaves wither, and then they can be divided and replanted as soon as possible. After flowering, let the leaves yellow before cutting them back. The plants are deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant.
Daylily - Destined to SeeThe Daylily Destined to See, ‘Hemerocallis’, has attractive creamy white petals with a blue-violet eye-zone. Accented with a rich purple edging. Fragrant, blooms 4-5″ across. Early mid-season bloomer, this is an evergreen variety. Daylilies are the perfect perennial. Each plant sends up many flower stems, and each stem bears 12 or more buds. Bloom is lavish and continues for several weeks or more on each plant. Trouble-free, maintenance-free, they tolerate most soils and conditions if they get at least 6 hours of sun. Use them in a perennial border, in front of shrubbery, as an edging along a walk or wall, and in your bulb beds, where they hide the ripening foliage of tulips and daffodils. They need dividing only every 10-15 years. Plants 18-24″ apart.
