    Calla Lily - Strawberry Parfait

    The Calla Lily Strawberry Parfait, ‘Zantedeschia’, a spring planted tuber, produces wonderful pink colored flowers with lightly splotched foliage. The flower is trumpet like in form and has a waxy texture. Calla Lilies are also know as pig lilies. The Calla Lily has sword-shaped leaves which are formed at the end of celery-like stalks. The leaves are heart-shaped and are a rich, dark green color that may be speckled. The Calla Lilly makes an excellent cut flower and are great container plants.

    Lily - Oriental - Rosato

    The Lily ‘Rosato’, ‘Lilium Oriental Hybrid’, a fall planted bulb, produces gorgeous soft pink flowers with yellow highlights. Oriental hybrid lilies, known as the most flamboyant personalities within the world of lilies, are characterized by their immense flowers, at least 6″ across. The elegant flowers, with their gracefully recurved petals, have an intense fragrance and rich colors. Oriental Lilies are very long-lived in the garden and will multiply over the years, if left undisturbed. This plant blooms for a 3-4 week period in the summer. Plant immediately after purchase, as the bulbs must not be left to dry out. Well-drained soil is a must so avoid soggy ground. Plant where there will be some shade during the hottest part of the day so that flowers will hold their color. Remove faded flowers promptly for continous blooming. At the end of the season, allow the foliage to turn yellow and die back. After a frost, clip back the stem near ground level and apply a mulch cover to ensure the bulb makes it through the winter months. If planting in a container, start off in a cool, shady location for proper root growth. This Lily is good for containers, cut flowers, and borders. They attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

    Spider Lily

    The Spider Lily, ‘Hymenocallis Festalis’, a spring planted bulb, produces beautiful white flowers. The Spider Lily is also commonly called Basket Lily and Peruvian Daffodil. It is a deciduous, bulbous, hybrid perennial that produces a spidery daffodil flower with extremely narrow petals. The plants features a clump of narrow, strap-shaped, amaryllis-like leaves (each to 36 long) growing directly from the bulb. In the summer, the flower stem rises and is topped by 2 to 5 fragrant, white, spidery flowers, up to 5 across. Spider Lilies can be utilized in borders, open gardens and containers. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
