    Calla Lily - Rehmannii

    The Calla Lily Rehmannii, ‘Zantedeschia’, a spring planted tuber, produces wonderful pink flowers with lightly splotched foliage. The flower is trumpet like in form and has a waxy texture. Calla Lilies are also know as pig lilies. The Calla Lily has sword-shaped leaves which are formed at the end of celery-like stalks. The leaves are heart-shaped and are a rich, dark green color that may be speckled. The Calla Lilly makes an excellent cut flower and are great container plants.

    Daylily - Cathrine Woodbury

    The Hemerocallis Catherine Woodbury, also known as a Daylily, has very fragrant lightly ruffled, orchid-lavender petals with a wide green throat and a flower size of 4. 5. With dark green foliage, this daylily will reach a height of 30 and a plant spread of 24-36. Winning the Award of Merit on 1973, one can see why. Catherine Woodbury will bloom from May through July, with outstanding color and a definite rebloomer. Catherine Woodbury prefers a full sun area that is well-drained. Although the blooms will last only for one day, there are many blooms on strong stems that rise above tall grassy foliage, (remove in late fall). Catherine Woodbury is considered to be pest and deer resistant. Use for cut flowers, massing, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs.

    Lily of the Valley

    The Lily of the Valley, ‘Convallaria majalis’, is a fragrant white Lily-of-the-Valley that is unusual because its bell-shaped flowers are actually double! Each arching stem is actually weighed down by the profuse blooms it carries. Plant in a garden with good air circulation to prevent fungal spots on the petals. This perennial thrives in moist, humus-rich, fertile soil, in sun or full shade. The more sun there is however, the more important it is for the soil to be moist. Late spring flowers of ‘Flore Pleno’ are white, double, bell-shaped, pendant, fragrant and waxy. Grows to 9″ tall.

    Lily - Climbing - Yellow

    The Yellow Climbing Lily, ‘gloriousa lutea’, adds a tropical flavor and is best suited for milder areas. This climbing lily produces slightly smaller flowers of golden yellow. Here’s a splendid low climber that does well in sun or partial shade. They begin blooming in mid-summer, these strange and exotic looking lily-like flowers are 4 to 5 inches across with wavy-edged petals. Each plant will produce 12 or more lily- like flowers. They can be planted indoors or outdoors. The Yellow Climbing Lily can be used in pots and containers. They are excellent for cut flowers. All parts of this plant are poisonous if ingested.
