Calla - Callafornia - Millenium GoldThe Callafornia Calla Millennium Gold, ‘Zantedeschia’, were formerly known as ‘Yellow Mammoth’, but recently re-named ‘Millennium Gold’. This disease resistant variety produces huge golden chalice-like blooms, 3-4″ wide, with spotted foliage.
Barberry - Rosy GlowThe Barberry ‘Rosy Glow’, ‘Berberis thunbergii’, is an easy to grow shrub that is great for beginner gardeners. This barberry is a vigorous cultivar and is a showy garden plant with its variegated leaves of purple with light pink splotches. With a plant height of 3′ and a spread of 2-3′, it should be planted in full sun to part shade. Full sun will produce the best foliage color. ‘Rosy Glow’ needs a well drained area and can tolerate some drought. Yellow flowers will appear in April and they may last until May. Use ‘Rosy Glow’ as a back of the border plant with Daylily ‘Stella De Oro’ or Rudbeckia ‘Goldstrum’.
Calla Lily - AnnekeThe Calla Lily Anneke, ‘Zantedeschia’, a spring planted tuber, produces wonderful purple flowers with lightly splotched foliage. The flower is trumpet like in form and has a waxy texture. Calla Lilies are also know as pig lilies. The Calla Lily has sword-shaped leaves which are formed at the end of celery-like stalks. The leaves are heart-shaped and are a rich, dark green color that may be speckled. The Calla Lilly makes an excellent cut flower and are great container plants.
