Calla - Callafornia - Hot Flashes
Calla - Callafornia - Hot FlashesThe Callafornia Calla Hot Flashes, ‘Zantedeschia’, are hot pink with a sparkling white throat with deep green sword shaped leaves. They display 1-1/2 to 2″ blooms on 10-17″ stems. Here is a beautiful collection of Hybrid Calla Lilies that are very colorful and offer such a wide range of floral use. The blooms are tall cup- shaped, upright trumpets about 5″ tall and 2-3″ across. They can be used in beds, low borders, patio pots or planter, as cut flowers as well as indoor house plants. The foliage is attractive rich green and upright with sturdy, broad sword- like leaves. Calla Lilies enjoy rich garden soil. Hardy in zones 9-11; elsewhere lift bulbs in the fall for winter storage or grow indoors.
Daylily - StartleThe Daylily Startle, ‘Hemerocallis’, exhibits huge, bright magenta-red blooms with contrasting ruffled yellow edges and a yellow-green eye. A mid-season bloomer, this daylily is a dormant variety. Daylilies are the perfect perennial. Each plant sends up many flower stems, and each stem bears 12 or more buds. Bloom is lavish and continues for several weeks or more on each plant. Trouble-free, maintenance-free, they tolerate most soils and conditions if they get at least 6 hours of sun. Use them in a perennial border, in front of shrubbery, as an edging along a walk or wall, and in your bulb beds, where they hide the ripening foliage of tulips and daffodils. They need dividing only every 10-15 years. Plants 18-24″ apart.
Lily - Oriental - Tiger WoodsThe Oriental Lily Tiger Woods, ‘Lilium’, is a fabulous Oriental Lily that has classic white petals with red stripes down the centers. The best feature of this lily is the smattering of deep maroon spots across the face of the petals like the spots of a lovely leopard. This new cultivar is a show-stopped in the romantic border garden. Cut flower arrangements that incorporate this stunning lily will not fail to impress. They are hardy zones 4-9.
